Article Directories Links – Good or Bad?

With so many Search Engines Optimization (SEO) companies out there building links for your site, the question many are asking is how does Google measure the quality of the site on which a link is created and therefore will it benefit my site if I post articles on article directories for the purpose of building a link?

Further more, what if that directory of category is matching and relevant to my own industry, as an example what if it is a web design directory or category matching my business of building websites?

Article directories are essentially sites with people and the occasional bots loading content of 300-500 words in average on a topic and ending with the author’s signature bio and link to your site.

Google states that the use of articles on article directories for the purpose of building links is considered low quality and even spammy and for that reason the algorithm will not value such links and overall this effort is not rewarded with Google “juice”.
